No.9 Springfield is a boutique hotel in Potts Point. For this client I was asked to come up with a creative branding strategy that could be translated into the overall visual identity and rebranding of the hotel. Following my research I decided to come up with a branding strategy that played into the history of the buildings past. Once known as the premier address for high-society in the 1930s, No.9 Springfield’s branding pays homage to the hotels prolific past with the overall vision of the hotel being to ‘indulge in the past and live in the present’. This concept has been successfully translated throughout the hotels visual identity with each brand elements such as fonts, colours and logos being specifically crafted to pay homage to the buildings past whilst remaining modern and relevant to the trendy area of of Sydney’s Potts Point.
A series of icons have also been created to further enhance the vision of the hotel. Each icon has been influenced by the art deco shapes and lines that can be found on the exterior of the building. These icons not only add an element of interest, but strength No.9 Springfield’s visual identity as they ensure that the history of the building is at the forefront of the hotels branding.
My role for this project also included the design of various different signage, print collateral and assistance with design of the website.
